Jazz on the Plaza
Jazz on the Plaza is a vibrant summer music series held in the sunken plaza just outside Saint Peter’s Sanctuary doors. After a hiatus due to a plaza reconfiguration, the pandemic, and a flood, the series returned in 2024 to bring incredible live jazz performances to the heart of the city.
The 2025 season kicks off with a special Summer Solstice event, followed by lunch-hour concerts every Wednesday for 8 weeks
Sponsored by the Arts and Architecture Conservancy, Boston Properties, and Grand Central Partnership, this series invites everyone to enjoy world-class jazz in a unique and welcoming outdoor setting.
The Arts and Architecture Conservancy at Saint Peter’s helps provide funding for restoration and preservation of New York City’s landmark and iconic Saint Peter’s Church at Citigroup Center (1977) in Midtown, Manhattan. It also supports and enables public arts and cultural programming in the building’s theater, lecture hall, community rooms, modernist sanctuary and outdoor Plaza.
In addition to restoring the landmark Saint Peter’s Church, the Conservancy’s present focus is rebuilding key public program spaces destroyed by extensive and irreparable damage from a broken city water main that sent hundreds of thousands of gallons of water cascading through the building in 2021. A $5 million capital campaign is underway. The Conservancy is also focused on restoring and expanding arts and cultural programming, particularly as NYC rebounds from the COVID19 pandemic.
