The New York jazz community lost a beloved member with the passing of vocalist Roz Corral. Originally from Novato, California, Roz moved to New York as a young adult, with plans to be a professional dancer. Instead, she found herself singing at open mic nights, dabbling in cabaret and eventually growing more serious about singing jazz, studying at Barry Harris’ Jazz Cultural Theater.
