About the artist
Carolyn Abrams is based in Brunswick, NY. She teaches and facilitates a number of art programs in the area.
Abrams' works reflect a search for life’s meaning through the exploration of the interrelations between the spiritual, physical and emotional realms. Reflecting on that search she states, "I’ve found a myriad of 'vessels' that contain and from which emanate life-giving forces."
The paintings in this series utilize these vessels to metaphorically contextualize the transference of energies that nourish life both physically and spiritually. Though some objects may be recognizable, mainly these works explore the interplay of color and form.
