Body Part Bouquet’s Opening Reception
On Sunday, October 6, Saint Peter’s Church celebrated the opening of Body Part Bouquets, a new exhibition by sculptor Jack Howard-Potter, presented by the Arts and Architecture Conservancy at Saint Peter’s. Friends, artists, and members of the community gathered in the Living Room Gallery for an evening of art, music, and conversation — complete with pizza brought in from Long Island and live jazz from Marvin Carter and his quartet.
Howard-Potter, well known for his monumental figurative steel sculptures displayed across the United States, brings a new dimension of playfulness and reflection to Body Part Bouquets. This series reimagines the human form through welded steel “bouquets,” where limbs, torsos, and gestures intertwine in expressive compositions. Each piece showcases his meticulous craftsmanship — every steel rod bent cold by hand and welded into place — and his ongoing fascination with movement, anatomy, and balance.
The exhibition continues Saint Peter’s tradition of highlighting artists whose work bridges the sacred, the creative, and the communal. Within the geometric, light-filled spaces of the church, Howard-Potter’s sculptures resonate with both strength and grace, inviting viewers to see the human body as both structure and symbol.
Body Part Bouquets is on view in the Living Room Gallery at Saint Peter’s Church. Visitors are welcome to explore the exhibition Monday through Friday from 8 AM-5 PM, and Sundays from 9 AM to 6 PM.
