On Monday, March 3, 2025, the Arts and Architecture Conservancy presented a heartfelt Jazz Memorial for trombonist and tuba legend Dave (David) Bargeron at Saint Peter’s Church. The event drew an intimate gathering of colleagues, friends, and admirers who came together to celebrate his vibrant musical legacy.
Bargeron (1942–2025) was renowned for his expressive low-brass playing and adventurous spirit—most notably with Blood, Sweat & Tears, Gil Evans, and Jaco Pastorius’s Word of Mouth Band. During the memorial, performances from longtime collaborators echoed his genre-crossing career, while shared stories highlighted a life dedicated to exploration, collaboration, and joy.
As always, Saint Peter’s sanctuary served as a thoughtful home for this celebration—continuing its cherished tradition of honoring the lives of jazz artists.
