About the art
From 2006 to 2008 Dean Radinovsky built a small chapel in his studio. Titled "chapel Americana," the piece was both an artwork and a non-denominational meditative space, a work of spiritual architecture inspired by small family chapels and cave chapels he had seen in Crete. The building that housed the studio has since been torn down, but the painted walls of the Chapel will now have a new life in a more public context - no longer functioning walls, but nevertheless in a spiritual space. Fitting with Saint Peter's place as "the Jazz Church," the paintings were made while Radinovsky listened to Coltrane, Monk, Ellington, Roach, Mingus, and other classic and contemporary jazz artists (along with some Bach, too.)
