Janie Milstein: Reflections on the Grid is on view at Saint Peter's Church September 22 - November 5, 2012. Free and open to the public, this installation is presented by Midtown Arts Common and Saint Peter's Church.
About the artist
Milstein, a native Texan, relocated to New York City in 2003. Centuries-old buildings juxtaposed with modern glass towers intrigued Milstein and reflections on the grid of glass and steel skyscrapers captured her imagination. Using paint, fabric, string, wire, wood, and found objects she creates intricate, layered, sometimes three-dimensional renderings of the myraid effects of reflections.
