About the artist
Jackie Weisberg's ouvre is all about the urban and rural enviroment. She is inspired by the work of precisionist painters and photographers such as Charles Sheeler, Edward Hopper, Ralston Cranford and Paul Strand who experimented with a highly controlled approach to technique and form. The interaction between diagonal planes and expanses of light is often as much a focal point for her as the subject itself. She is drawn to crisp hard shapes, flat planes of color, a sense of logic and geometry, qualities that inform the images from her two series, "Gowanus Impressions" and "Views from the Train."
