On Tuesday, February 25, 2025, the beloved baritone saxophonist Claire Daly was honored with a heartfelt Jazz Memorial at Saint Peter’s Church (619 Lexington Ave). More than 275 guests gathered in the sanctuary—another 150 tuned in online—for an evening overflowing with music, stories, and community love.

On Monday, January 13, 2025, the Arts and Architecture Conservancy presented a heartfelt Jazz Memorial for the legendary percussionist Johnny “Dandy” Rodríguez Jr. at Saint Peter’s Church (619 Lexington Ave). Renowned as one of the most recorded Afro‑Cuban percussionists in salsa and Latin jazz, Johnny’s life and music were celebrated by an intimate gathering of musicians, collaborators, and devoted fans.

In 2024, working with the Historical Landmarks Preservation Center, two cultural medallions were installed at Saint Peter’s honoring Louise Nevelson and Lella and Massimo Vignelli.

We celebrated what would have been Louise Nevelson’s 125th birthday at Nevelson Chapel, the only remaining, permanent, fully-intact sculptural environment by the artist.

Dr. Bálint Karosi gave his first and only organ recital during his tenure as Cantor of Saint Peter’s. The program was a powerful showcase not only of Karosi’s artistry as a performer and composer, but also of his visionary work in shaping the newly redesigned Klais organ, transformed by C.B. Fisk in 2023.

In relation to Marco Anelli’s photography exhibition, Saint Peter’s: Views from Church and Basilica where inspiring examples of shadow and light were on view, we hosted a panel to explore the effects of light in three modern spaces.

An immensely public building, a reception during the NYCxDesign Festival gave a rare opportunity to experience the space without the hustle and bustle of the myriad programs.

On Tuesday, February 13, 2025, internationally acclaimed organist Felix Hell returned to Saint Peter’s Church for a deeply personal and virtuosic recital on the newly transformed Klais/Fisk organ—an instrument that helped shape his earliest experiences as a musician.

A series of inaugural events were held, beginning with a weekend of programs featuring solo, orchestral, and choral literature that invited people to be part of giving to New York City an inspiring instrument for the future.
